DIY Bleach Tie-Dye

I haven't done a DIY project since I moved to Sydney, so I figured it's about time for one especially since I love to craft! Kyle gave me one of his old v-neck t-shirts that he doesn't wear anymore. My housemate Christy also gave me a pair of comfy pants that I just wear around the house. They had a little bleach spot at the bottom, so I've been wanting to bleach dye them somehow. I finally made it to the Reject Shop and got all of the supplies I needed.

Supplies you'll need:

Something that you want to dye (t-shirt, skirt, pants, etc.)
Bleach
Rubber bands
A bucket (a sink works just as well)
Spray bottle (if you want the sprayed look)

At The Reject Shop I got bleach, a spray bottle, and a big bag of rubber bands for only $3.50!

So the first thing you need to do it twist or crumple up whatever you want to bleach dye and wrap it in rubber bands, then pour or spray it with bleach

I want the pants that I want to look like tie dye and the shirt to have a sprayed look.

This is what they should look like a little while after you pour or spray the bleach

I let them sit about 30-45 minutes each then rinsed them with water

After that I put them in the washing machine just to make sure I got all the bleach out, then hung them out to dry.

Here's the finished products:

The bleach gave the blue shirt a purple-ish look instead of turning it white.

I was also surprised at how many colors the pants came out with!

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!
Can't wait to wear them!
